Singapore, 7 November 2013 – This school holidays, we’re ending off Singapore Zoo’s 40th anniversary celebrations with a big bang! Join us during the weekends from 30 November to 22 December for “Zoo Hoo! Wild Wow Birthday”, which promises fun-filled activities such as token feeding birthday surprises, games, mascot appearances and magic shows for the entire family.

Go wild with the zoo’s resident animals as they enjoy their birthday surprises during select token feeding sessions. Snap a photo with the endearing animal mascot and be ‘wow-ed’ by exciting magic performances. Team up with your kids at fun games for some great family bonding time! DELVE INTO A MUSICAL ADVENTURE AT ZOO HOO 2012

Singapore, 22 Oct 2012— Play along with nature’s band at Zoo Hoo, when you visit Singapore Zoo! Held during the weekends of 24 November – 16 December, Zoo Hoo 2012 will take little ones into a musical discovery of the rainforest’s sights and sounds.

Young participants will be encouraged to identify the sounds of nature and understand why animals make certain noises. Then, get hands-on to create musical instruments that complement nature and join in the rainforest’s symphony of tunes.

A Rainforest Dance Experience
Get down and boogie, tribal-style, with our talented roving dancers! These energetic performers will be situated at the Singapore Zoo entrance to welcome those embarking on their musical rainforest adventure. Join in the fun as they show you how to get into the groove of the rainforest in their tribal-themed costumes. Don’t forget to take a photo before heading in for the rest of your adventure.

Sounds like a Wild Encounter!

Come join our trainers as they explain the link between sounds and animal behaviour. Watch as they exhibit their strong bond with their animal charges through the use of bells and clickers, and get cosy with animals like dogs, ferrets, hedgehogs and even an African grey parrot!

ART GOES WILD AT SINGAPORE ZOO!

Singapore, 10 October 2011 – Kids can dig deep into their artistic genes and unleash their creativity at the Singapore Zoo’s “Zoo Hoo! Art goes wild” event this year-end school holidays. Centred around art and animals, the event promises lots of colourful fun and educational activities.

To be held over five weekends from 19 November to 18 December, “Zoo Hoo! Art goes wild” will feature activities for the whole family. There will be real elephants parading the park, arts and crafts activities and even lovable cartoon characters SpongeBob Squarepants and Patrick Star will make an appearance!

In line with the theme and as one of the main sponsors of Elephant Parade Singapore, an open air art exhibition of painted elephant statues, the zoo will also showcase 30 decorated, life-sized baby elephant sculptures around the park. Painted by local and international artists, each elephant will be a unique piece of art, providing quirky photo opportunities for kids and their parents.

What’s more, on 19 Nov, Playeum® the Play Museum celebrates The Big Draw at ZooHoo! Art Goes Wild”, with the theme “Fantastical Creatures Go Wild”. Using animals as an inspiration, Playeum® unleashes children’s imagination; to go wild as they immerse themselves in a wide range of art activities to create unique creatures of their own. What’s more they can enjoy the invaluable opportunity to work with artists who will play role models to bring out the children’s innate abilities. Come join us for a day of wacky fun and learning.

Visitors can watch and learn from our animal kingdom “Picassos”, i.e. the orang utan and Asian elephants, as they create art pieces on paper with simple strokes of paint.

Funky Elephant Parade

Create your own animal cartoon
Kids who have always dreamed of becoming animators can get their first experience of creating their own animal cartoon character at the zoo. They will first learn the basic cartoon techniques, while drawing inspiration from real life subjects at the zoo, such as the hedgehog, tortoise and iguana.

Ele-paints Me!
