WILDLIFE RESERVES SINGAPORE PARKS GO SMOKE FREE

Singapore, January 20, 2009 – All three Wildlife Reserves Singapore (WRS) parks’ premises: Jurong Bird Park, Night Safari and Singapore Zoo have gone smoke-free effective January 1, 2009. The move is in line with the governing Authority’s smoke-free campaign.

“As all our three parks are family-friendly, it is a natural progression for Wildlife Reserves Singapore to also adopt a smoke-free environment and move towards healthier and cleaner environment for our visitors and animals,” said Ms Fanny Lai, Group CEO, Wildlife Reserves Singapore.

Prominent signages will be clearly displayed at strategic locations such as at the exit and entrance; in-park at children play areas as well as at dining areas and restaurants. All WRS operations staff will be enforcing the “No Smoking” ban.
