Singapore, 15 October 2012 – Chandramohan s/o Ramalingam, a Trainer and Show Presenter at Jurong Bird Park, a park managed by Wildlife Reserves Singapore (WRS), has been recognised for offering the Best Customer Service in the Visitor Attraction category at this year’s Singapore Experience Awards. Hosted and presented by Singapore Tourism Board, the Singapore Experience Awards honours organisations and individuals which have made outstanding contributions to enhance Singapore’s image as a premier tourist destination.
This is the first time 33-year-old Chandra has won the award, and he edged out two other nominees from the Sentosa Leisure Group and Skyline Luge Sentosa to win in Best
Customer Service in the Visitor Attraction category.
The results were announced at a gala presentation ceremony at the Shangri-La Singapore earlier this evening, which was graced by President Tony Tan Keng Yam. There were 91 finalists who vied for 30 awards this year. Finalists in each category were nominated by industry players and experts, with the final winner selected by a panel of judges.
The Best Customer Service award recognises exemplary customer service in sectors such as Food and Beverage, Hotel, Nightspot, Retail, Tour Guiding, Transport and Visitor Attraction. Nominations for this category could be made by organisations and the public.
“I’m privileged to have won this award. When you are absolutely passionate about your job, wanting to share this passion and love with guests come naturally. While I am overjoyed at the recognition, I will still continue to do my best for the birds under my care and for the guests whom I hope to inspire,” said Mr Chandra s/o Ramalingam, Trainer and Show Presenter, Jurong Bird Park.
“We are delighted that Chandra’s efforts towards delivering memorable experiences to guests have been recognised. He is one of many stellar staff we have in WRS, and we are all very proud of him. We will continue to push the envelope and provide our guests with memorable experiences at Jurong Bird Park and our other attractions, Night Safari, Singapore Zoo, and the upcoming River Safari,” said Mr Lee Meng Tat, CEO, Wildlife Reserves Singapore.
